These sea transit times are approximate — the actual time depends on when your LCL container finishes loading and consolidating, the vessel’s sailing date and route, any transhipment hub before the final destination, and customs clearance, so please allow a week or two either side. Transit times run from the date of UK collection and exclude UK and Kenya public holidays.
Does the sender and receiver have to be the same person? +
Yes — for personal effects classification, the sender in the UK and the receiver at Nairobi must be the same person. This is a Kenya customs requirement. A different receiver will cause customs to reclassify the shipment, potentially attracting full commercial import duties.
