Moving abroad

What documents do I need to ship luggage overseas?

Fewer than you might think — and we prepare the UK side.

For most personal-effects shipments you’ll need proof of identity, a valued inventory of the contents, and whatever the destination country requires for import (which varies by country). We prepare your UK export documentation and help you build the inventory.

👤
Proof of ID — usually a passport, and sometimes a visa or residence document at the destination.
📋
A valued inventory — an itemised list with rough used values. See what a valued inventory means.
🌎
Destination import papers — these differ by country; some need a residence or work visa, others a customs form. We’ll tell you what applies to your route.
