Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) allows Overseas Pakistanis (NRPs) to import personal effects duty-free under the OPN scheme. This is one of the most generous personal effects duty exemptions in the South Asia region — but it requires correct documentation, and the documentation must be in place before the shipment arrives.
Who qualifies: Pakistani nationals holding a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) or a Pakistan Origin Card (POC). You must be returning to Pakistan or sending personal effects for your own use.
What qualifies: Used personal effects — clothing, household goods, personal electronics (battery removed). Not new commercial goods in original packaging. Not goods for resale.
Documentation required: Valid NICOP or POC copy, detailed itemised packing list with declared values, OPN declaration form, passport copy. We prepare the documentation pack at booking — you do not need to know the forms yourself.
