Most worldwide destinations are door-to-port: you or an authorised representative must collect your shipment at the arrival airport or seaport and complete customs clearance in person. Shipping outside Europe brings a different set of considerations than an EU destination. Every country covered here has its own customs authority, its own rules on what counts as a genuine personal effect versus a dutiable new good, and — most importantly for planning your move — its own delivery model. A handful of destinations, including the USA, Australia, the UAE, and New Zealand, offer full door-to-door (subject to your destination) delivery once customs clearance is complete. The majority of the 140 countries on this page operate on a door-to-port basis: your shipment travels to the arrival airport or seaport, and you, or someone you formally authorise, need to attend in person to clear it. Some of those airport-collection destinations — eight of them, covering the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong — also offer a genuine door-to-door (subject to your destination) alternative by sea freight, delivered kerbside and to city limits, for anyone who would rather not collect in person.
A smaller group of destinations, mostly across Africa, the Gulf, parts of Asia, and the Caribbean, have no door delivery option at all by any method — these are flagged clearly on each country page so there's no ambiguity about what to expect when your shipment lands. Whichever destination applies to you, Excess Luggage Co. prepares your UK export documentation in every case; the import declaration required by the destination's own customs authority remains the importer's responsibility to complete on arrival.

Import paperwork required by the destination country's customs authority is the importer's responsibility to complete and submit on arrival. We provide the export documentation and valued packing list you will need to complete it.
A number of destinations are arrival collection only, with no door delivery option by air or by sea. This includes most of our African destinations (Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt), the Caribbean (Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago), the Gulf states (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman), and most of Asia and Latin America. These destinations are marked in red on the destination grid above.
