Shipping for Engineers
On an overseas contract? We’ll get your belongings and kit to site

A project in the Gulf, a site in Africa, a posting in Asia — we ship your personal effects, tools and technical kit from your UK door to wherever the contract takes you, by air for speed or sea for the heavier loads.

Engineering work moves you to where the project is — often at short notice, often to a site rather than a city. We’ve shipped for engineers on overseas contracts from the UK since 1998, and we’re used to project timelines, mobilisation dates and getting kit to less-than-obvious addresses.

Where engineers ship to — and how

Wherever the project is, we get your belongings and kit there:

🇦🇪
The Gulf & Middle East. Oil, construction and infrastructure projects across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and beyond — fast air freight or full sea shipments.
🌎
Africa & Asia. Mining, energy and infrastructure sites — we ship to major cities and coordinate onward delivery to project locations.
🇦🇺
Australia & Canada. Longer-term postings and emigration moves, full-household by sea or essentials by air.
📦
Tools & technical kit. Hand tools, instruments and equipment shipped alongside your personal effects, correctly declared.

What engineers usually ship

📦
Send. personal effects, clothing for the climate, work gear, hand tools, instruments and technical reference materials.
⚠️
Declare properly: tools and equipment need an accurate, itemised inventory — and anything powered or containing fuel, gas or batteries must be declared. Tell us what’s in the kit and we’ll advise before you pack.
🔋
Batteries: no lithium batteries in a standard shipment, including inside laptops, phones, tablets and power banks. Batteries can be packed and exported as declared dangerous goods — ask us before you pack.

Timing it around mobilisation

Project mobilisation dates rarely wait. If you need kit and belongings on site soon after you arrive, air freight is typically 4–10 working days, subject to space and flight availability with the carriers. For heavier loads and full households, sea freight is far cheaper but runs to weeks — roughly 4 to 12 depending on destination and sailing dates, so allow a week or two either side.

Tell us your mobilisation date and the site, and we’ll plan the shipment backwards from it.

How it works, step by step

1
Quote & book. Tell us what you’re sending and where. We give you a clear quote up front — and as long as your shipment is what you told us, that’s the price you pay, subject to airline rates at the time of booking.
2
Door collection. We collect from your address anywhere in the UK — no depot runs, no airport queues.
3
Pack & itemise. We export-pack and prepare the inventory customs needs, so your belongings clear smoothly at the other end.
4
Ship by air or sea. Air for speed, sea for value — delivered to your new address abroad.

Shipping for engineers — your questions answered

Can you ship my tools and equipment? +
Yes — alongside your personal effects, with a proper itemised inventory. Anything powered, or containing fuel, gas or lithium batteries, must be declared; some items ship as dangerous goods. Tell us what’s in the kit and we’ll advise.
Can you deliver to a remote project site? +
We ship to the nearest major port or airport and coordinate onward delivery. For remote sites, tell us the address and we’ll give you the realistic options.
How long does it take? +
Air freight is typically 4–10 working days plus clearance; sea freight runs to weeks — roughly 4 to 12 depending on destination and sailing dates.
Is shipping cheaper than airline excess baggage? +
For anything beyond a bag or two, almost always — and you’re not hauling tools and kit through the airport. We collect from your door and ship door to door.
