How long does shipping from the UK to Cairo (CAI) take? −

These sea transit times are approximate — the actual time depends on when your LCL container finishes loading and consolidating, the vessel’s sailing date and route, any transhipment hub before the final destination, and customs clearance, so please allow a week or two either side. Transit times run from the date of UK collection and exclude UK and Egypt public holidays.
Does the sender and receiver have to be the same person? +
Yes — for personal effects classification, the sender in the UK and the receiver at Cairo must be the same person. This is a Egypt customs requirement. A different receiver will cause customs to reclassify the shipment, potentially attracting full commercial import duties.
Are destination charges included in my UK quote? +
No. Your UK quote covers collection from your door, export documentation and air freight to Cairo CAI. Destination charges — airport handling, government inspection fees, storage fees and any import duties — are levied by Egypt authorities and payable by the receiver at the Cairo cargo warehouse. We advise on known destination charges for CAI at the time of booking.
What is the booking deposit? +
All bookings require a £75.00 non-refundable deposit to secure your UK collection date. This is offset against your total shipping charge at invoice — it is not an additional fee.
