Libya is currently affected by conflict, instability and/or international sanctions and embargoes. That has real consequences for shipping:
We will not take a booking or a deposit for a route we do not believe can be completed safely and lawfully. If you have a genuine need to move belongings to or from Tripoli, the honest first step is a conversation — not a booking. We check current carrier availability, the sanctions and embargo position, and whether a compliant, insurable option exists at all. Often it will not, and we will tell you so plainly.
Instability and shifting control of ports and airports mean carrier availability to Libya is unpredictable and often suspended. We assess enquiries against current conditions.
Where direct shipping is not possible, people in this situation sometimes use accredited international humanitarian or relocation channels, or wait for a route to reopen. We are happy to point you toward the right kind of organisation where we can, even when we cannot carry the shipment ourselves.
Whatever the destination, a few of our rules never move: items over 30kg carry a heavy-weight surcharge so they can be handled safely; loose lithium batteries, aerosols, perfumes and cash cannot travel in unaccompanied freight; and every shipment needs an itemised contents list. Collection is from any UK address.
Airline excess-baggage charges add up fast once you go past a bag or two, and they often bill by the kilo on top. Once you have more than a couple of bags, sending them with us usually works out cheaper and a good deal less stressful.

Carriers may suspend the route for safety, and sanctions or export-control rules may prohibit sending certain goods, or sending to certain parties. Insurance is also frequently unavailable. Any of these can make a shipment impossible.

Libya is subject to partial UK, EU and international sanctions and arms embargoes, and commercial logistics into the country can be disrupted and unpredictable. Certain goods and parties are restricted or prohibited.

If you’re flying to Tripoli yourself and only have one or two extra bags, paying the airline for excess baggage may be the simplest option.
